I've never heard of network HIPPA Compliance recommending two different firewalls? Two different firewalls usually lead to non stop conflicts & network issues you may regret. Also you mention wanting to use two different firewalls on the same network for added protection & that is contrary to what most expert network IT professionals advise.

I realize you want to get what you paid for but trust me that Beta Norton Password Manager is utter garbage that doesn't even work correctly on Windows 10 OS & if you could finally ever get it to install on your Mac I'm sure it will be as bad as on Windows systems. Besides both the Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge browsers included password managers actually work perfectly & they aren't unproven, experimental Beta software like that garbage Norton 360 Password Manager still is! Just some friendly advice FYI. I tried using that garbage Beta Norton Password Manager on my Windows 10 Notebook & had to remove it b/c it never worked right. As for my computer's specs, I'm on the 2021 version 24" iMac, M1 chip, 16 GB memory.ĪnotherKoko if you don't want to screw up your new 24" iMac you should leave well enough alone & keep that Beta Norton 360 Password manager off your Mac. Last night I updated to 11.5.2, and for some reason it's working right today. Then after installation, I had the worst possible time making the damned thing work right. My bet is it was Edge that worked for me. To be honest, I've had nothing but problems with Safari so I've stopped using it altogether. I hate to be so all over the place, but I can't remember exactly WHICH thing worked, but I know it was either emailing myself the link or attempting to download in Edge. Then I downloaded Microsoft Edge browser, and tried again. I was sending myself links, sending myself QR codes, you name it. I decided to get creative on how I was linking to the installation page.
My computer was fresh out of the box, and it didn't matter how many times I downloaded the installation software, it repeatedly wouldn't install right. I know I'm late to this party, but I also had miserable issues getting Norton to install.

Until then I guess we will have to rely solely on the Apple Mac OS Big Sur built in security features which Apple Tech support claims is the only security Mac users need anyway.

I turned my Firewall back on that was turned off by Norton 360 pre the Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1 update & will wait to see if Norton Lifelock ever provides us a compatible version of Norton 360 for Mac. Apple Tech also stated that he doubts Norton Lifelock support will admit that it's their Norton 360 software as currently offered that's the cause of this issue.

Apple Tech concluded that unless Norton Lifelock provides Norton 360 customers with fix to Norton 360 installer for Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1 it is currently incompatible. Apple tech took control of my iMac & thoroughly checked every setting on my system to make sure Mac OS wasn't blocking anything with the Norton 360 installer then had me try installing Norton 360 again as they guided me through entire install process.
Since my iMac is brand new I was able to get Apple's highest tier iMac Tech support to try & help me resolve this Norton 360 install issue. This issue with Norton 360 not working and/or installing on Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.1 is definitely a compatibility issue that Norton Lifelock will have to provide a fix for. I am using Big Sur, latest edition on an iMac 27" (late 2017)ĭespite having been with Norton since the early days when Peter Norton actually ran the company I am ready to chuck it and install Total AV, Intego, Kaspersky or another more reliable app which installs and then sits quietly until there is a problem to solve. I have completely uninstalled the app using the terminal script provided and then reinstalled - once again all bright and shine and then it falls over. Like the others if I get it working this only lasts part of a day before saying there is an error. Secondly, it asks to Allow Lifelock in General tab under System Preferences.

Keeps asking me to update preferences firstly with Norton System Extension in Full Disk Access (its already in there and ticked) but when Complete is touched it takes age to validate and comes up with an error.
Norton cant even agree! - the icon in the toolbar has a X in it while the Icon in the Dock has a tick! On my Norton website subscription list it shows 4 devices protected while on my iMac it says three! Go figure.
Add me to the list of frustrated Norton 360/Lifelock users! I probably have wasted two days in total trying to solve this.
